The Lost Serial Collection - Clips and Chapters from 35 Extremely Rare Serials Review

Since I am absolutely pleased with this collection, let me explain why I give it four instead of five stars. There is an additional frame listing the title and stars of each series of 35 represented, but 11 of them are represented by less than a minute clip. I feel the compilers have given the information in the form of captions, rather than spending more for the frame in a clip that could introduce up to 17 missing as short in seconds. And Trailer for The Masked Rideraltogether. That nitpick aside, this is a great compilation of us seem to legends like Pearl White and Ruth Roland. And 'interesting to note that while the sound of the 30 series through 50 had, with some notable exceptions, male hero, a large proportion of silent rows were female fun leads. The lines was silence in the absolute absence of credibility of the plot and individual scenes. Some of my best moments are the very old and poor womanstage blatant female bondage woman in the gray iron claw of the parrot, who speaks only one sentence .. "Pay attention to the iron claw future" star Charlie Chan .. .. Warner Oland in the flash Raider, the technical devices of the Rogue Valley and cursed the dog over to QUEEN OF NORTHWOODS.A villain must have for those who love the series and a good introduction for those who have not learned about the genre, although it must be said that the next rejected Sound Series gave us the trueClassics of the genre.

No Bargain - Yogi - Illinois, USA
This book is what it is too expensive. Most clips are too short and devoid of context, of great value or interest. The two episodes that are presented are not fully characterized in particular. The print quality is very variable and often poor. The dual format disc could be expected: Disc 1 is little more than 90 minutes and disc 2 is just the 50th minute The most interesting area of the first series deserves a better presentation.

Lost serial fragments reclaimed - Harold W. Cornelius - Arlington VA USA
This is a very good collection of fragments of our movie past. An excellent restoration, background, with appropriate music.

Byzantium - I wanted to learn more - Book N Film Fan - Colorado
I expected something different from Byzantium: The Lost Empire, with the DVD presentation achieved. This does not mean that it was not worth seeing, but I thought it would be much better.

Spokesman John Romer vague reason through the lands of the Old Kingdom (especially Turkey) and show the wonders remaining - now often in a ruinous state. From time to time, the presentation goes deeper explanations, especially about the Christian church at that time.

After the presentation I have not yethave a good sense of Byzantium. I know it was essentially a continuation of the Roman Empire, but have no idea how people lived and how the ruling class can continue to run for another 1,000 + years. 3 stars is all I can give.

a little boring - rainforest - USA
Even if John Romer is excellent, though the story, you need to use much imagination. Often said: Imagine yourself in the middle of the parade, etc., and all that is shown by the camera is the same scene (usually a wall) over and over again. A small re = creation would be great, as it did in the video for The History Channel. I had a hard time keeping me awake and I really wanted to learn about this topic.
One thing I was convinced that theContent of the DVD of that is very complete.

I can watch it just about 20 minutes. - Art Hsin - Beijing, China
No subtitles, no CGI in this movie! Cameraman followed Romer to his show back is very annoying! Romer presentation is fun and boring. I can see only about 20 minutes. I read a lot about the history and Byzantine history Ottosman Turkey. This film is hardly impressed me at all! This can be a bit 'more personal. I wish that manufacturers can future CG reserved Byzantine architecture found in their original form without electricity Muslim! Many Chinese historiansDocumentaries have been widely used for CG artifacts in their original historical renovation. Romer gesture and movement are really annoying! CGS replacement can be great!

Check Out Abbott & Costello in Hollywood / Lost in a Harem for $5.74

Abbott & Costello in Hollywood / Lost in a Harem Review

These two films for MGM (outside their country home-made Universal Studio). I remember spending weekend afternoons just these two comedies on television as a child and love them.
"Lost in a" Harem seems fairly by-the-numbers to forge an Arab. However, it is lit, of course, Bud & Lou funny routine in which tangle with an evil Sultan. There is also a surreal moment in shameless hypnotic trick goes wrong and the kids think they're both termite (!!);Start eating the furniture!
My favorite is "Abbott & Costello in Hollywood", a fun romp, which sets the kids loose in Hollywood. This gives clumsy ways many artists like Lou Rags Ragland, Lucille Ball, etc. Playing barbers Hollywood agents of a bossy young players coming up-and-running conflict with an already established (and very jealous) actor, nothing will stop to stay on top of the heap. Other highlights include teaching Bud Lou, like the beardCustomer (made with soap, a balloon and the blade - you can only imagine the results!) Lou posing as a prop in a western saloon scene dummy (I laughed until I cried here!) Lou "master" always outwitted by a class of Hollywood Kids, and a final slapstick exciting roller coaster ride.
I only set four stars, because the dealer did not bother to clean the print - you still look scratched and blurred places. Also, there are featurettes, etc., about the boy or the productionfilms.
However, I am just glad that finally was able to enjoy DVD for their fans!

So the fellas become movie talent agents, setting in motion the lights-camera-comedy antics of Abbott and Costello in Hollywood, including Costello being mistaken for a prop dummy during the filming of a saloon brawl, Bud and Lou coping with insomnia, and a pursuit finale in the cars and on the tracks of a roaring roller-coaster. You'll also find Lost in a Harem. Locked in is more like it, as the two land in the hoosegow twice, where their timing, repartee and monkeyshines shine. Douglas Dumbrille plays the evil potentate who uses hypnosis against the boys ? making this a tale of Arabian daze and nights. The grand wazir orders you to watch!

The framework for both films look good. This is not a flipper disc. Both films are on the same side of the disc. Both English and French audio. Both have English, French and Spanish subtitles. Abbott and Costello in Hollywood has a movie trailer. Not lost in a harem.

Mayans and Aztecs - Ancient Lands of the Americas (Lost Treasures of the Ancient World) Review

This video helpful to understand the differences and similarities between the two cultures. The graphics are excellent, but the Talking Heads are difficult to understand, and are good points, it would be helpful if the decision was clear.

Mayans and Aztecs - Ancient Lands of the Americas (Lost Treasures of the Ancient World) Overview

The Mayan civilization enjoyed a glorious period from 325 AD to 925 AD. Skilled potters, weavers and farmers, the magnificent temples at Chichen Itza and Copan are among the legacies of peace-loving people. The Aztecs of Mexico are remembered for their architecture, sculpture, art, and for their religious rituals which included large scale human sacrifice. Laudable, but not Original - Jeffery Mingo - Homewood, IL USA
The series of Culture is working to produce, which in reality only dry lessons Slideshow notorious. However, these adjustments and interviewed people who had so impressed the better.
Only few works concern both the Aztecs and Maya. I realize that this work in both, but can inattentive audience, which could collapse the two civilizations to be confused together.
This study confirms what many say works on these people. The Maya went before the European CouncilContact, the Aztecs had internal enemies, who believed strongly in human sacrifice and the Aztec people were killed their leader Montezuma II. For those who know a lot about the Aztecs and Maya, this work is not new. I welcome the statement of work for the Mayans and Aztecs have direct descent and speak the ancient languages to this day.
The disc was really made for a European audience. Although I have the English narrator, respondents had understood the academic accentsas hard as I could not understand a simple Yankee.
I think the work too tedious for a grade, but it would be good for high school students. Those fascinated by ancient cultures should appreciate.
