Byzantium - I wanted to learn more - Book N Film Fan - Colorado
I expected something different from Byzantium: The Lost Empire, with the DVD presentation achieved. This does not mean that it was not worth seeing, but I thought it would be much better.
Spokesman John Romer vague reason through the lands of the Old Kingdom (especially Turkey) and show the wonders remaining - now often in a ruinous state. From time to time, the presentation goes deeper explanations, especially about the Christian church at that time.
After the presentation I have not yethave a good sense of Byzantium. I know it was essentially a continuation of the Roman Empire, but have no idea how people lived and how the ruling class can continue to run for another 1,000 + years. 3 stars is all I can give.
a little boring - rainforest - USA
Even if John Romer is excellent, though the story, you need to use much imagination. Often said: Imagine yourself in the middle of the parade, etc., and all that is shown by the camera is the same scene (usually a wall) over and over again. A small re = creation would be great, as it did in the video for The History Channel. I had a hard time keeping me awake and I really wanted to learn about this topic.
One thing I was convinced that theContent of the DVD of that is very complete.
I can watch it just about 20 minutes. - Art Hsin - Beijing, China
No subtitles, no CGI in this movie! Cameraman followed Romer to his show back is very annoying! Romer presentation is fun and boring. I can see only about 20 minutes. I read a lot about the history and Byzantine history Ottosman Turkey. This film is hardly impressed me at all! This can be a bit 'more personal. I wish that manufacturers can future CG reserved Byzantine architecture found in their original form without electricity Muslim! Many Chinese historiansDocumentaries have been widely used for CG artifacts in their original historical renovation. Romer gesture and movement are really annoying! CGS replacement can be great!
