Great Price Warner Brothers for $5.31

Abbott & Costello in Hollywood / Lost in a Harem Review

These two films for MGM (outside their country home-made Universal Studio). I remember spending weekend afternoons just these two comedies on television as a child and love them.
"Lost in a" Harem seems fairly by-the-numbers to forge an Arab. However, it is lit, of course, Bud & Lou funny routine in which tangle with an evil Sultan. There is also a time outrageously surreal hypnotic trick goes wrong and the kids think they're both termite (!!);Start eating the furniture!
My favorite is "Abbott & Costello in Hollywood", a joke, which sets the kids loose in Hollywood. This gives clumsy ways many artists like Lou Rags Ragland, Lucille Ball, etc. Playing barbers Hollywood agents of a bossy young up-and-coming players to run into conflict with an established (and very jealous) actor, nothing will stop to stay on top of the heap. Highlights of teaching are Bud Lou, like the beardCustomer (made with soap, a balloon and the blade - you can only imagine the results!) Lou pose as a prop in a western saloon scene dummy (I laughed until I cried here!) Lou "master" ever outwitted by a class of Hollywood Kids, and a thrilling roller coaster final slapstick laughs.
I only set four stars, because the dealer did not bother to clean the press - is still looking scratched and blurred places. Also, there are featurettes, etc., about the boy or the productionfilms.
However, I am just glad that finally was able to enjoy DVD for their fans!

Abbott & Costello in Hollywood / Lost in a Harem Overview

Buzz (Bud Abbott) and Abercrombie (Lou Costello) work in a Tinseltown haircut salon where they usually just take a little off the side. But why not take 10% off the top instead? So the fellas become movie talent agents, setting in motion the lights-camera-comedy antics of Abbott and Costello in Hollywood, including Costello being mistaken for a prop dummy during the filming of a saloon brawl, Bud and Lou coping with insomnia, and a pursuit finale in the cars and on the tracks of a roaring roller-coaster. You'll also find Lost in a Harem. Locked in is more like it, as the two land in the hoosegow twice, where their timing, repartee and monkeyshines shine. Douglas Dumbrille plays the evil potentate who uses hypnosis against the boys ? making this a tale of Arabian daze and nights. The grand wazir orders you to watch!

DON'T LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS - JACK LOBO - Greenwich,CT USA
The framework for both films look good. This is not a flipper disc. Both films are on the same side of the disc. Both English and French audio. Both have English, French and Spanish subtitles. Abbott and Costello in Hollywood has a movie trailer. Not lost in a harem.
